According to the USDA, more than 38 million people, including 12 million children, in the United States are food insecure. That's 1 in 6 kids through out America that doesn't get the food they need everyday. They live in households that lack the means to get enough nutritious food on a regular basis. As a result, they struggle with hunger at some time during the year. For the 12 million kids in the U.S. facing hunger, getting the energy they need to learn and grow can be a day-in, day-out challenge.
